About Me
Yes, it was about time I wrote this page. I know most of you, faithful readers1 know me, either from IRC, or from forums, or from commenting on your blog. But seems new people come across this blog2, so huzzah! Welcome everybody, and lets get on with who I am, ok?
My online nickname is Sade, as you probably can guess from the title of the blog3. That, however, is not my real name. My mother named me Diana, in honor of the Roman Goddess. Now, if you ever meet me, I tend to answer to both names, since I’ve been using the nick Sade online since at least 2004.
If you reached this blog looking for the singer, I’ll have to disappoint you and tell you I can’t sing at all. I have no musical talents, I am no singer, except in the shower, and when I’m alone. Then I don’t care how off-key I sing, or if the lyrics to the song I’m singing are actually different from what I say (-;
I started to blog in November 2003, in a now lost blog. I wanted to share some thoughts with friends online and around the world without having to spam their e-mail addresses and forcing them to read. It was easier to have an online place they could visit whenever and read about what crossed my mind back then. There wasn’t much in that blog that I miss now, so all is good.
In 2004 I met my now boyfriend, Jan, in an IRC channel that I no longer visit. In the begining of 2005 we created a little space of our own in the net, and thus SaDevil was born. Later that year, in October, is when I gave up my old blog, and moved to this new home for my thoughts.
Now, you may wonder what kind of things fill the posts and pages of this blog you’ve come across. It’s filled with my interests, with stories of trips abroad and not so far away, and with all sort of craftings. At the moment of writing this “About Me” page, there were twenty-one categories, with Cooking, General, Knitting, Living In Belgium, and Travels some of the more active and/or interesting in my opinion. You may think what you want, and say that the meme‘s are what spice up this place.
So, I’m an Engineering Student, and I’m also a crafter. I solve Physics problems, and I knit a blanket. I play with Chemistry, and cook a lovely meal. I also spin, write, carve stamps, sew, bake, read, play with fimo, go to Ikea, listen to music, and plan on opening a shop in the near future, with hand-crafted items. This blog lets me write down and share with anyone what I’ve been doing and what I plan doing, but don’t expect finding saucy details about my personal life!
And, lastly, I am also proud pet-owner (together with Jan), and I have to show off our lovely critters, two guinea pigs that we adopted in August 2006:
Oh, yeah, if you want to contact me, you are welcome to use the link here, that you can also find on the sidebar of the blog as “Contact Me”4
