{"id":547,"date":"2012-03-11T20:11:05","date_gmt":"2012-03-11T18:11:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sade.sadevil.org\/blog\/?p=547"},"modified":"2012-03-11T20:11:05","modified_gmt":"2012-03-11T18:11:05","slug":"forty-days-without-meat-days-17-18-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sade.sadevil.org\/blog\/2012\/03\/11\/forty-days-without-meat-days-17-18-19\/","title":{"rendered":"Forty days without meat: days 17, 18 &#038; 19"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Breakfast:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Orange juice<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Musli with milk \/ oatmeal with craisins<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Lunch:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sammiches (day 17)<\/li>\n<li>Salad with mustard dressing (1 tsp mustard, 1 tsp red wine vinegar, 1 tsp soy sauce, 2 tsp olive oil) (day 18)<\/li>\n<li>Chilli sin carne, whole wheat (day 19)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Dinner:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pizza, half 4 cheese, half mozzarella and pesto (day 17)<\/li>\n<li>Veggie gyros pita (day 18)<\/li>\n<li>Sammiches &amp; No cream of broccoli soup (day 19)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Snacks:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coffee &amp; tea<\/li>\n<li>Chocolate<\/li>\n<li>Cookies<\/li>\n<li>Banana<\/li>\n<li>Mandarins<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Bonus recipe:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>No cream of broccoli soup<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ingredients:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">1 broccoli bunch (500 gr) plus the stalk of another (that was in the freezer from last week)<\/li>\n<li>1 leek<\/li>\n<li>4 cloves garlic<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp olive oil<\/li>\n<li>70 gr raw cashew nuts<\/li>\n<li>1 l water (more might be needed)<\/li>\n<li>salt &amp; pepper<\/li>\n<li>pinch cayenne pepper<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp lemon juice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Make it:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Soak the cashew nuts in water for an hour to soften up (this will make it easier to blend later on). The cashew nuts provide creaminess to the soup.<\/li>\n<li>Rinse the leek, and chop. Mince the garlic. Heat up olive oil in a 3-4 l pot. Add the leek &amp; garlic, and cook until soft and golden.<\/li>\n<li>Meanwhile, cut the broccoli in pieces. For the stalks, remove the outer layer (approx 5mm) that is a bit harder and leave only the heart, then cut in pieces.<\/li>\n<li>Add broccoli to the pot, cover with approx 1l water (it doesn&#8217;t need to be completely covered) and bring to a boil. Lower heat to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Remove from heat. Drain the cashew nuts and add to the broccoli. Mix with immersion blender until creamy.
