{"id":1069,"date":"2015-02-16T22:00:42","date_gmt":"2015-02-16T21:00:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sade.sadevil.org\/blog\/?p=1069"},"modified":"2015-02-16T22:00:42","modified_gmt":"2015-02-16T21:00:42","slug":"mushroom-tofu-sang-choy-bau","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sade.sadevil.org\/blog\/2015\/02\/16\/mushroom-tofu-sang-choy-bau\/","title":{"rendered":"Mushroom &#038; Tofu Sang Choy Bau"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s dinner brought to you inspired by a recipe that I read somewhere, and with the &#8220;40 days without meat&#8221;<sup class='footnote'><a href='#fn-1069-1' id='fnref-1069-1' onclick='return fdfootnote_show(1069)'>1<\/a><\/sup> campaign in mind.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1070\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sade.sadevil.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2015-02-16-19.49.50.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1070\" class=\"size-large wp-image-1070\" src=\"https:\/\/sade.sadevil.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2015-02-16-19.49.50-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Mushroom &amp; Tofu Sang Choy Bau\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sade.sadevil.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2015-02-16-19.49.50-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/sade.sadevil.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2015-02-16-19.49.50-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sade.sadevil.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2015-02-16-19.49.50-200x150.jpg 200w, https:\/\/sade.sadevil.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2015-02-16-19.49.50-150x113.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1070\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mushroom &amp; Tofu Sang Choy Bau<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Serves:<\/strong> 2<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 250 gr block firm tofu<\/li>\n<li>10 gr \/ ~ 1tbsp sesame oil<\/li>\n<li>500 gr mushrooms, clean &amp; sliced<\/li>\n<li>1 orange (or yellow) bell pepper, diced<\/li>\n<li>3-4 spring onions, sliced<\/li>\n<li>1 small tin (70gr) tomato concentrate<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp mushroom &#8220;oyster&#8221; sauce (or the real thing if you&#8217;re not vegetarian)<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp soy sauce<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp sambal oelek<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp garlic powder<\/li>\n<li>1 pack (150 grams) straight-to-wok noodles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Wrap tofu in a couple paper towels and press dry with hands. Cut in 1.5cm cubes. Heat up a non-stick pan on medium, once it&#8217;s hot, add the tofu cubes, and let them cook without touching them for 4-5 minutes, until golden, then turn, and repeat until all sides are golden and slightly crunchy.<\/li>\n<li>Heat up oil in a wok. Add mushrooms and cook, stirring, for 3-4 minutes, until tender. Add the bell pepper &amp; half the spring onion, and cook for a couple of minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Meanwhile, in a bowl, mix the tomato paste, mushroom &#8220;oyster&#8221; sauce, soy sauce, sambal oelek &amp; garlic powder with 3-4 tbps of water, enough to make it pourable (might need to add some more water). Add to the mushrooms and cook 2 minutes. Add the noodles, stir and cook for another couple of minutes.<\/li>\n<li>At this point, all sides of the tofu should be golden. Add tofu to the mushroom mix.
